“These are just my first reactions to your wonderful book of poems which I continue to read each day choosing arbitrarily from the riches of your imagination.
I just read “Adultery” which made me laugh a lot and yet grieve too for that little girl who brought her honesty and her sins to a priest who hadn’t a clue how to answer or comfort her.
And “Mrs. S”. How wonderful to think of that woman after thousands of years of being ignored. It’s a brilliant comment on the egos of men while women slave away and keep the home together. But you give it a whole new perspective. Does he ever give Mrs. S. a thought? Probably not. It’s just him and his rock. It’s a profound point of view you invented here.
I end where you end, with “The Portal” and “Repurposed”.
You have rescued the heart with the missing piece and slipped through a portal and claimed your own life. It’s something your mother could never do but you have done it. Good for you and good for this wonderful book of poems.” Dan L.
